My Intentions for the Rest of 2022 and an Invitation to Join Me in Gratitude

Last week I asked you to share your intentions for the rest of 2022 and to choose a word to guide you through the holiday season.

You chose such beautiful words:

CARING

SLOW

LIGHT

My word for the rest of this year is GRATITUDE.

Throughout this year I’ve been struggling to stay positive.

With the arrival of November’s cold and darkness, it got worse. So much is troubling in the world. It’s hard not to be pulled under.

Instead of focusing on the negative or getting angry about the things I can’t change, I’m focusing on gratitude.

I have so much to be thankful for.

Even on dark days.

Even when life feels hard.

And so I’m greeting each day with the words, “Thank you.” When I feel sadness or anger bubbling up in my chest I say, “Thank you.” When I notice something beautiful I say, “Thank you.”

Paying attention — noticing — is key. It’s easy to rush through my days, busy, without being fully present.

I know I talk about this a lot. Keeping Joy Lists. Slowing down. I’m not good at it, but I want to be. Thanksgiving isn’t something I want to do just once a year. It’s something I want to cultivate every day.

And so, my focus for my blog for the rest of the year will be GRATITUDE.

I’ll pop in each week with a gentle reminder and with thanks.

I hope you’ll join me.

I’m grateful for my students and my customers and I’m ever so grateful for you. Thank you for reading my words, for coming along on my journey, for sharing your thoughts, too.

Here’s to a beautiful December, sharing gratitude together.
