This watercolor houseplant portrait features a beautiful, variegated schefflera plant in a clay pot.
The schefflera is a pretty plant and while studying it for this painting I realized how interesting it is. Every leaf and leaf cluster is different. Different number of leaves, different coloring. My plant even had an unusual double-leaf (can you spot it in the painting?).
Growing a collection of houseplants brings the magic of nature into the home and is a joy throughout the year, especially in winter. Every year I turn to my indoor garden for art inspiration and I’m delighted to share it with you, too!
Paper measures 10” x 14” and the image is about 9.25” by just under 12”.
