This watercolor houseplant portrait depicts a gorgeous rubber plant growing in a clay pot.
Filling my home with plants is one of my greatest joys. I’ve been known to rescue plants from the trash and nurse them back to health. The parent of the rubber plant I used as reference for this painting was found discarded at the edge of a cornfield bordering my parents’ property. I popped it into a pot with fresh soil and it’s thrived. So much so that I need to keep cutting it back — giving me baby plants. Most of which I’ve given away. This one keeps me company in the studio and eventually I couldn’t help but paint it. It’s a reminder we can always find beauty, often in unexpected places. And everyone deserves a second chance.
Paper measures 12” x 16” and the image is about 10” x 12.5”.
Every order is lovingly gift wrapped with a handwritten note.
Painting is unframed. Signed with my initials.
