Gratitude and a Giveaway Inspired by an Exciting Collaboration and Fun Stickers

Sometimes a project comes along which is a complete joy. My collaboration with Kickapoo Meadery was one of those projects. This fall I worked with Roots and Refuge Farm on another.

Roots and Refuge Farm is the YouTube channel of Jessica and Jeremiah Sowards. They create videos about gardening and homesteading, sharing what they’ve learned along the way.

They’ve been working with artists for a while now, commissioning art for stickers, magnets and t-shirts.

What a joy it was to brainstorm ideas for phrases and imagery relating directly to their farm and their channel. Each design has a special meaning for their story.

Dana introduced me to their channel a couple of years ago and what I love about Jess’s videos (in addition to her beautiful gardens) is how encouraging she is (like in this one and in this one). Her passion for encouraging others led her to write the book The First Time Gardener (as she announced in that first link) and she’s in the process of writing her second, The First Time Homesteader.

I am always inspired by others who are living their dreams.

This summer they moved from Arkansas to South Carolina and began building a new farm.

Jess’s eventual, long-term goal is to create a learning center where people can come for hands-on gardening and homesteading experience.

The stickers from the art I created debuted in this video on the day after Thanksgiving. You can find sets here (each sticker is available individually in their shop, too).

I’m grateful to have been able to work with the Sowards on this project. I’m also grateful for you, dear reader.

Thank you reading my words and thank you for sharing your thoughts in the comments and via email. It means a lot to me to know my words and photos and art inspire, uplift and encourage you.

You inspire, uplift and encourage me, too.

As a special thank you I’m running a giveaway!

I’ll choose one winner to receive a set of stickers. This part of the giveaway is open to everyone (except for those in countries restricted right now by the USPS due to Covid).

I’ll also choose one US based winner to receive a set of stickers, one of my 2022 calendars,
