Variegated Geranium in a Clay Pot

Variegated Geranium in a Clay Pot

Do you look for joy in the ordinary? There aren't many garden plants more ordinary than the geranium. Just about every garden has at least one. Geraniums have long been common household companions, in fact, they were among the first plants to be grown as houseplants.

Being so common, geraniums are often overlooked. And yet, there's something special about them. There's joy in the ordinary. They are cheerful and colorful, both the flowers and leaves. Some are fragrant. To a child the velvety leaves of the geranium are a magical delight. Do you remember getting down to geranium level when you were a child and investigating with fingers and nose (and maybe even tongue)?

There's magic in even the most ordinary of plants.

This geranium's leaves are a combination of lime and rust. Dramatic. Different. The flowers are bright red-orange and delicate. Even its clay pot is elegantly tall and skinny. This painting shows that even the most common plant has its charms.

Framed and hung on your wall this painting will whisper a reminder to look for joy in the ordinary.
