Little Viola Watercolor

Little Viola Watercolor

Do you grow violas in your garden? When you were a child did you crouch down at flower level and peer at the little faces that are called Johnny Jump Ups? There's something so friendly and cheerful about them and their other name of Heart's Ease gives you an idea of what joy these little plants can bring.

Violas are tenacious little plants, too. Often the first flowers to bloom in the springtime they'll also survive through the frosts of early fall. They are joy in the form of petals and leaves.

This painting is joy in the form of paper and paint. It depicts a stem of a sweet purple viola. It's a cheerful reminder of the tenacity of nature and the strength that lies in that which is both delicate and beautiful.

Framed and hung in your home it will bring joy to your everyday and whisper its reminders to you.
